    Ongoing monitoring for Sulphur Dioxide at Pointe-a-Pierre Refinery

    Over the last two (2) days, high levels of sulphur dioxide have been detected intermittently in some areas of the Pointe-a-Pierre Refinery. In response, the Company installed additional set-point monitors in its workshops. These monitors were set at five parts per million (5 ppm) which is the established Occupational Safety and Health Standard.

    Response to incident in Point Fortin ongoing

    On Monday 2015 July 27, at around 1.30 pm, members of the Point Fortin community and staff of the Point Fortin Borough Corporation observed a watery/ mud like substance bubbling from the pavement and roadway just outside an oil well located near to the Southern Main Road, Point Fortin.

    This well is under the control of Lease Operators Limited, one of the companies engaged by Petrotrin under its Lease Operatorship programme.
