What is an EAP?

“An Employee Assistance Programme or EAP is a worksite-based programme designed to assist:

1)

Work organizations in addressing productivity issues and

2)

Employee clients in identifying and resolving personal concerns, including but not limited to, health, marital, family, financial, alcohol, drug, legal, emotional, stress or other personal issues that may affect job performance.”  [EAPA, 2003]

 

About PEAPSL

Petrotrin Employee Assistance Programme Services Limited [PEAPSL] provides a range of services designed to help employees and organizations be more productive. This includes addressing issues that affect productivity such as stress, substance abuse, conflicts within departments, major organizational changes and employees’ personal issues [including marital, family and financial issues]. PEAPSL therefore supports Human Resource, Wellness and HSE functions and is also trained to respond in the event of crisis to help employees return to a functional level.

 

PEAPSL’s staff are qualified in different areas including Clinical and Medical Social Work, Clinical and Child Psychology, Financial Counselling and Planning, Play Therapy and Marital and Family Therapy. PEAPSL is a member of the International Employee Assistance Professionals Association [EAPA] and our Clinical Director is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional [CEAP].

 

PEAPSL started in 1988 as a department in the Trinidad and Tobago Oil Company Limited [TRINTOC] and in 1999 became a wholly owned subsidiary of Petrotrin offering services to other organizations. Today PEAPSL offers services to over fifteen [15] organizations in the energy, financial and other sectors.

 

With over twenty [20] years experience and our professionally trained staff PEAPSL is recognized as a pioneer in the region, on par with the best service providers.
