Energy
sector expert Trevor Boopsingh passed away at the Medical Associates
Hospital in St. Joseph, on February 10th, 2010, after a long
battle with cancer.
Mr. Boopsingh had been ailing for some time and had sought medical
attention overseas in November.
Mr.
Boopsingh has had a long and distinguished career in the local energy
sector, where he served in various capacities including, lecturer,
author and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Energy.
He was an
MSc Graduate in Petroleum Reservoir Engineering from the University of
London. He was the author of the landmark book Oil and Gas and
Development.
He has
made a major contribution to both predecessor company, Trintopec, where
he served as Chairman and later to Petrotrin where he served as the
first Chairman. |
