Mr. Bissessar joined Petrotrin as a Senior Internal Auditor
in the
Internal
Audit
Department
in 1997 and
was
appointed
Chief Audit
Executive in
January
2009.
Mr. Bissessar previously held positions in
Information
Technology
and
Accounting
at two state
enterprises
and the
University
of the West
Indies.
He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer
Science and
Physics from
the
University
of the West
Indies which
he obtained
in 1982. In
1984, he was
awarded a
Commonwealth
Scholarship
which
allowed him
to obtain a
Master of
Science
degree in
Operational
Research
from the
University
of
Birmingham,
England,
In 1993, Mr. Bissessar successfully completed the
ACCA program
of studies
and now has
the
chartered
certified
accountant
designation.
Since
joining
Petrotrin,
Mr.
Bissessar
obtained the
Certified
Internal
Auditor
(CIA) and
Certified
Information
Systems
Auditor (CISA)
designations.
He is also a
certified
Volunteer
Instructor
for the
Institute of
Internal
Auditors.
In 2006, Mr. Bissessar completed the Advanced
International
Program in
Oil and Gas
Financial
Management
from the
University
of Texas at
Dallas.
As Chief
Audit
Executive,
Mr.
Bissessar
is responsible for appraisal of the adequacy, effectiveness
and
efficiency
of the
company’s
systems of
internal
control,
risk
management
and
corporate
governance.
He also has
responsibility
for the
conduct of
investigations
and
consultations
at the
request of
the
company’s
stakeholders.
