Petrotrin President on Move to Boost Production in Onshore Eastern Blocks. For Petrotrin’s President Mr. Kenneth Allum, the ten year sub-licence agreement with Contractors for seven fields in Petrotrin’s onshore block is a significant development. Mr. Allum shared this view when delivering an address at the signing ceremony of the Consent to Sub-License the Onshore Eastern Blocks at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad, Port of Spain on October 28th, 2009. Petrotrin to Conduct Seismic Survey in North Western District. Petrotrin will shortly start the acquisition of a 3D Land Seismic Survey in their North West District and API’s Oropouche farmout area of South Trinidad. The Survey reaches North into the Phillipine/ Debe area, South to Siparia/ Palo Seco, West to Point Fortin and finally North to Rousillac/ La Romain. Read more::
 

 

Petrotrin Hosts 2009 ARPEL Workshop and CASYSIA Meeting. Petrotrin hosted an international Environmental Health and Safety meeting of the CASYSIA/ ARPEL group on October 20-22 2009, at the Petrotrin Pointe-a-Pierre Club. ARPEL, which is a Spanish acronym, stands for Regional Association of Oil and Natural Gas Companies in Latin America and it is an organisation with member companies in over 26 Latin American countries. Its main focus is to improve the Region’s Oil and Gas industry. Read more::
 

 

Minister Enill: Petrotrin can Boost Production in the short to Medium Term. The country’s current production when converted to barrel of oil equivalent puts our oil production in a one to eight relationship, an imbalance that the Ministry of Energy Industries together with Petrotrin is working to address. Petrotrin recently secured US$850 million financing from the international capital market. Petrotrin intends to use the net proceeds of this offering to complete the Gasoline Optimisation Programme and to construct the Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel plant at Pointe-a-Pierre.  Read more::
 

 

On July 8th 2009, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Senator the Honourable Conrad Enill, Petrotrin President Mr. Kenneth Allum, and Upstream Business Director of Centrica Energy Mr. Richard Mew signed a Profit Sharing Contract (PSC) for the exploration of Block 2 (ab) located off the East Coast of Trinidad.   Read more::
 

 

On Tuesday 7th July, 2009 Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Senator the Honourable Conrad Enill; President of Petrotrin Mr. Kenneth Allum and President/ CEO of Voyager Energy Limited, Mr. Gerold Fong signed a Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for the exploration of the Guayaguayare Blocks off Trinidad’s south coast.   Read more::
 

 

Petrotrin enters into E&P Contract with Bayfield Energy (Galeota) Ltd to explore Galeota block.  Petrotrin has signed a US$100m exploration and production licence with Bayfield Energy (Galeota) Ltd for exploration of the Galeota block and revitalization of the Trintes oil field.  Read more::
 

 

Fifth Summit of the Americas - First Ever Spouses Programme held at Pointe-a-Pierre History was created in Trinidad and Tobago in the month of April as the country hosted the Fifth Summit of the Americas in Port of Spain. During the period April 17th to 19th 2009, 34 hemispheric heads of state and government from North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean participated in a series of roundtable events.
