Members of
the Petrotrin family have once again shown the bigness of their hearts
by their very positive responses to the request for donations under the
Haiti Relief initiative. The project was launched shortly after the
devastating earthquake hit Port au Prince earlier this month. It enjoys
the endorsement and full support of the OWTU, sister state-enterprise
PSAEL and other stakeholders across the Company.
Non-perishable items and clothing that were collected were forwarded to
the warehouses operated by the Organisation of Disaster & Preparedness
Management (ODPM) for onward distribution. Phase I of the exercise – the
collection of non-perishable food items, toiletries and clothing to
address the immediate needs of the survivors- has now come to an end.
However,
Phase II of the exercise- the ongoing collection of monies to address
the more medium to long term needs of the Haitian people- continues over
the next three months. |
