Petrotrin
has assisted students for the past several years to attend the Global
Young Leaders Conference (GYLC). This year, the conference will be held
in Washington D.C., United States of America from June to August and
recipients from secondary schools across the country were assisted to
attend.
The
Conference is organised by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council (CYLC),
an independent, non-profit educational organisation with over 50
embassies and 430 members of the United States’ Senate and House of
Representatives on its honorary, bipartisan advisory board. CYLC is not
affiliated with any political party or the United States Federal
Government.
The GYLC
identifies a select group of high school students from around the world
who consistently excel academically and demonstrate leadership ability.
The conference provides them with the opportunity to gain a more global
perspective through interaction with students from around the world; to
meet national and international leaders who are actively involved in the
decision-making processes in both the government and private sector of
the United States and to immerse them in a challenging curriculum that
will further develop their leadership skills.
The
students were thankful to Petrotrin for affording them the opportunity
to be part of such a significant event. |
