The Petroleum Company of Trinidad and
Tobago’s (Petrotrin’s) General Manager
Exploration and Development, Mr. Egbert
Waterman, graduated with a Bachelor’s
Degree in Geology from the University of
Oklahoma in 1979.
In 1979 October, Mr. Waterman joined one
of Petrotrin’s predecessor companies,
Trintoc, as a Geologist and later moved
up the ranks in the organization to
serve as a Senior Geologist, while on
secondment at the then Trinmar Limited
in Petrotrin’s west coast marine
operations.
He subsequently assumed other key
positions, inclusive of Head Drilling
and Recompletions and, thereafter,
Manager Prospect Generation where he
handled both onshore and offshore
operations. He was then confirmed in the
position of General Manager Exploration
and Development where he has
responsibilities for the following
functional areas:

Exploration and Geophysics
-
Prospect Generation
-
Reservoir Engineering
-
Petroleum Engineering
-
Data Management and Technical
Services
His portfolio as General Manager
Exploration and Development encompasses
the remit of upstream exploration
activities, development drilling,
Reservoir Engineering and reserves
identification, accounting and
exploitation, Petroleum and Completions
Engineering and the full suite of data
management and related services for the
Exploration and Production Division of
Petrotrin.
Mr. Waterman is a member of the
Geological Society of Trinidad and
Tobago GSTT), and has written and
presented several technical papers both
locally and internationally at various
geological conferences.
